Sydney Howard (1891-1939) was a California playwright and screenwriter who won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1925 for 'They Knew What They Wanted' and a Academy Award for Adapted Screenplay in 1940 (posthumous) for 'Gone With the Wind'. He wrote over seventy plays. The play published here, a successful play on Broadway, is a drama about a mother who is pathologically close to her sons and works to undermine their romances. Very good clean copy of one of Sydney Howard's better plays.
