Binding remains firm. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. Some mild marks and staining to surfaces. Unclipped jacket has heavy edge wear with tears, chipping and creasing. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine.

In 1950 when Norman Lewis wrote his book of travels in South East Asia, the three countries of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos were nations in transition. Some of the tribes of Central and Southern Vietnam were only pacified some fifteen years previously, and the people of the whole area in a coalition of nationalists and communists were fighting to free themselves from French colonialism. Includes a section on the Viet-Minh.
