Pictorial Hard Cover. Etat : Fair. Gilbert Rumbold (illustrateur). Fourth Printing. The boards are covered in goldtone foil. The front board has a black title block and an illustration and a decoration in green and black. The spine strip has black cloth, but about a fourth of it is chipped off, leaving brown paper exposed. 286 pages; color illustrations, including on the endpapers. The author wrote "Here's How!" above his signature and "February 3/33" below his signature. 2/3's of the black area of the title block has rubbed (white) spots. The foil on the back board is wrinkled along 7 inches of the edges and one other place. The foil has chips on all but one of the boards' edges. The foil is fragile and more chips can occur unless the book is handled and shelved with great care. The text block ends have darkened. Water stain is along nearly all edges of the front endpaper; the back endpaper is less so, but the non-print side of the FEP has more water stain. Nearly half of the pages each have a margin with light water stain, from 1/4 in. to full length of the margin. A few pages have water stain on 2-3 margins. The pages are a little wavy. Photos of the book will be e-mailed upon request. International shipping will require extra shipping cost. Signed by the Authors.

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. Rumbold, Gilbert (illustrateur). 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Black cloth backed boards lettered in gilt, with art deco illustrated front board in gold, green and grey. 287 pp. Fabulous, colourful art deco illustrations throughout, printed in black, red, blue, yellow, tan, and green. Decorations by Gilbert Rumbold. With the inserted errata slip at pg. 25. The spine is faded and most of the gilt lettering chipped away, worn at the foot and head with the front cloth split at the front board, only held by a neat strip of glue. The boards with light rubbing and bumping to the corners, some light scuffing and scratching to the front illustrations and rather light scratching to the rear board. No damage to internal hinges, very faint damp stain to the top fore-edge tip of the first two pages, and a couple of small light spots to a few pages following the errata. The boards very sharp, thus quite uncommon and overall a very good copy of this quintessential bar tending and drink recipe book with its attractive art deco boards and interior illustrations. Fragile copy because of the split cloth at the front board, but very presentable and collectible.
