Soft cover. Etat : Good. Edward Shenton (illustrateur). May - November, 1935, all complete in original wraps, light general wear and soiling at issues, spines intact except October issue, which shows minor chipping, library blind stamps noted at most issues, no other library markings noted, August issue has skinning at front wrap, and a black ink library stamp, October issue has been repaired along spine, discrete repairs noted at spine ends of November issue; overall a nice set. The book would be released by Scribner's in September, 1935. From the Foreword, "Unlike many novels, none of the characters or incidents in this book is imaginary. Anyone not finding sufficient love interest is at liberty, while reading it, to insert whatever love interest he or she may have at the time. The writer has attempted to write an absolutely true book to see whether the shape of a country and the pattern of a month's action can, if truly presented, compete with a work of the imagination." Complete sets of this "non-fiction novel" in its original magazine format have gotten quite difficult to assemble. Illustrated with decorations by Shenton. See Hanneman C231.
